His father, Dr. Duane Baker, practiced in Paw Paw, Michigan, where Andy spent much of his childhood and began helping at the clinic at an early age. It was also at the Paw Paw office where he met his future wife, Marianne, who was volunteering there at the time. The two dated through their undergraduate years and married while attending veterinary school.
